The nicer the soundman, the worse the sound

Well there we are. Double figures. The big One Oh. (10!). Still looser than a 45 year old Thai bride wed 3 times over mind. After having the best soundcheck ever (even getting applause from the lovely Marsyas), hopes were high in camp Linther. But when push came to shove, the nice soundman turned to the bottle, and lo, decided to attack the soundboard in a fit of drunken rage (possibly). Guitar sounds went up and down and all around, and Multisonti-beater (or No Ice beater, for all you Niall Ruane's out there) Green turned into chaotic mess of (metaphorical) human excrament. Other newie La Vie Avant Moi fared much better, with Ummitgasts silky guitar line and Hot Sauce/Sheriff Micheal/Pot Noodle horn blower's silkier drum beat reverberating all the way to France. Maybe. Monitors came on and off, people clapped and then stopped clapping, songs were sung, you know the drill. Overall very ace. Word up again to Marsyas for bass ampage (and an ace cover of the Spice Girls 'Wannabe') and also to Black Light Scene for the drums (but not for the topless gyration).
